Description
A solitary silhouette captures the essence of a millennial tradition. This oil painting presents a female figure from behind, draped in a dark and solemn kimono. The eye is immediately drawn to the golden gleam of the obi, whose thick material creates a tangible relief.
The composition plays on a marked chromatic contrast. The solar yellow background illuminates the white neck, while touches of blue and red animate the bottom of the garment. Japanese calligraphies are naturally inserted into the space, reinforcing the cultural anchoring of the scene.
The brushwork is decided. The layers of superimposed paint bring a tactile depth to the whole. This figurative approach favors the atmosphere and the poetry of movement over photographic precision.
The work, created in 2025, explores the duality between the rigor of the costume and the fluidity of the backgrounds. Each stroke emphasizes an elegance suspended in time. The light seems to emanate from the center of the painting, highlighting the golden reflections and the ochre nuances of the floor.
Presentation
I grew up in a family where art was predominant, but in a more recreational way.
My practice started with plastic art, and changed following repeated visits to my aunt's old studio. The passion was born amidst tubes of oil paint, brushes, and turpentine essence
I later discovered the world of the painter Pascal Cessou by spending some time in his studio and later, I took painting classes with Michel LHOTE for two years.
In my artistic journey, I have done interior decorations in acrylic, pastel, and oil paint, today I mainly do oils on canvas.
My initial training is in a higher education program in design and architecture, a more technical approach to drawing. I did eight years of interior design in a contemporary style, for a French design brand.
In 204, after a personal reevaluation, I obtained a state diploma, I also did humanitarian work
I have been painting for about thirty years and since May 2026 I have settled as a Painter Artist.
Women are the main subject of my art, even if I sometimes wander into other areas.
