Still Life I, 2026

Stefan Georgiev

A vivid exploration of color and texture. Three bright lemons anchor the composition. They glow with a radiant yellow hue against a deep magenta backdrop. This central contrast creates an immediate visual tension. The background pulses with intricate, hand-drawn patterns. Swirling lines and geometric motifs evoke the richness of textile art. Silver-toned leaves scatter across the scene. They introduce a metallic coolness that balances the warmth of the fruit. The surrounding border features a heavy, tactile impasto. This rough grey surface frames the central intensity. Each stroke adds a physical dimension to the flat patterning. The artist plays with the boundaries between organic form and decorative abstraction. A single lemon slice rests at the bottom edge. It serves as a final, zesty focal point. The artwork merges the precision of illustration with the spontaneity of mixed media. Its energy lies in the rhythmic repetition of shapes. Small black dots line the periphery like delicate stitching. The result is a sensory experience combining visual depth and graphic boldness.
