Description
Street art invites itself into an abstract and rigorous composition. The gesture is inspired by the letters and graffiti encountered around the streets of Paris. Here, calligraphy transforms. It becomes a formal research where the letter fades in favor of movement.
Contrast dominates. A deep, dark blue saturates the space, creating an almost nocturnal depth. Fine, tight lines stripe the surface, evoking a graphic tension. An ochre curve comes to break this monotony. It brings a warm, organic nuance that guides the eye.
Mixed technique allows for a precise play of textures. The line oscillates between the brutality of the stroke and a millimeter-precise finesse. The balance is played within this dialogue between oppression and lightness. Each line seems to translate a contained emotion, a quest for the ideal form.
This 2025 creation is part of a visual exploration. The final rendering combines the spontaneity of street art with an exacting technical mastery. The whole is presented under a white mat board and a light wood frame.

Cyril Simon was born in 1978, nicknamed 2flui, is a fan of alphabet letters, especially when these are under the form of graffiti on unusual walls.
He wanders on Parisian streets, to gaze upon the various graffiti, in order to nourish his creation. 1990 is an important date, as it was when his artistic career began. 2flui says he "tortures" the letters which are already written on the walls, he comes across. From torture to finesse, the artists forges a link with the letters through meticulous calligraphy. He has a big thirst for creation, he looks for the perfect form (tag), the one which doesn't exist but which nourishes his infinite research. He approaches the ideal form, by combining different metallic tools, cardboard...The title of his calligraphy, crystallizes questions which underpin his strokes: "brutality, oppression, where is the world headed?, crazy". Finesse and subtlety manage to translate the strength of his emotions. Hurtful and finesse make one.
