Description
Gondolas is a vibrant contemporary interpretation of Venice, where architecture, water, and the elegant rhythm of the boats merge into a richly textured composition.

Painted entirely with a palette knife, the work is built through dense oil impasto and energetic directional strokes. The dark blue gondolas create a powerful visual rhythm across the foreground, while bridges, façades, and reflections dissolve into luminous fragments of red, white, violet, yellow, and blue.

Rather than presenting a literal Venetian view, the painting transforms the city into movement and atmosphere. The gondolas become repeated gestures, almost musical in their progression, while the surrounding architecture rises through layers of color and material depth.

This work belongs to a language of gestural contemporary landscape and urban expressionism, where Venice is experienced through light, memory, and tactile presence. From a distance, the scene reads immediately as Venetian; up close, the surface reveals a dense network of knife marks, chromatic contrasts, and expressive energy.

Gondolas is ideal for collectors who appreciate contemporary Venetian painting, palette-knife technique, textured surfaces, and expressive interpretations of iconic European cities.
