Description
This landscape composition captures the serenity of a country bathed in light. The eye travels from a foreground of earth to golden fields. A line of dense trees marks the horizon, separating the land from a blue sky.
The brushwork favors a fragmented touch. The shades of green and ochre interweave with precision. Natural light defines the volumes and sculpts the terrain's relief.
The balance between the verticality of the trees in the foreground and the horizontality of the landscape creates a visual harmony. The color palette remains faithful to the organic tones of nature.
The sky, dotted with light clouds, brings an essential breath to the whole. This painting testifies to an attentive observation of atmospheric variations.
The technical execution emphasizes the depth of field. The rendering of the foliage brings a tangible texture to the canvas. The artist's signature appears discreetly in the bottom right.
Presentation
A contemporary painter born in 1962 in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, André Boubounelle paints landscapes in the classical manner, at a time when practices often put aside the pictorial and the figurative. Whether luminous or misty, his landscapes are never animated and exude a delicate poetry, a harmonious melancholy. This gives a rare emotional intensity to his paintings: as if in immersion, we walk through familiar landscapes of Burgundy, Ile de France, the sunny countryside under the snow, the Vexin, northern Brittany through Tuscany.
Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1983. Prize from the Casa de Velázquez, Institut de France, resident from 1991 to 1993. Prize of the Wildenstein Foundation in 1993,
The departmental domain of the Vallée-aux-Loup, La Maison de Chateaubriand in Chatenay-Malabry devoted an important exhibition to him in 2019, under the aegis of Marc Fumaroli (1932-2020), of the Académie Française.
Pont-l'Evêque, Espace Culturel Les Dominicaines, devoted an important exhibition to him "Le Voyage Immobile" from 19 March to 8 May 2022
