On the shore | Textured Meadow in Muted Green and Gray, 2023

Lyudmila Ponomareva

A dense field of grasses rises through a softly layered landscape, creating a quiet scene that feels both familiar and slightly mysterious. Fine, vertical stems overlap in a web of lines, while pale gray, sage, olive, and deep charcoal tones shift across the surface. The textured marks suggest the changing colors of a meadow through the seasons—from fresh growth to dry, weathered grass.

The artwork draws on the old belief that herbs held healing and even magical qualities. Today, a meadow can offer its own kind of comfort: walking barefoot through grass, resting in its shade, or simply watching the wind move through the stems. The artist invites viewers to slow down and notice the character of grasses, their varied colors, and the quiet vitality of the natural world.

With its restrained palette and layered, expressive surface, this contemporary nature artwork brings a contemplative mood to a living room, bedroom, study, or reading corner. It may appeal to collectors drawn to botanical subjects, atmospheric landscapes, and art that offers a gentle pause in a busy space.
