Harry Moody received his formal training as an artist at the Frankfurt Stadel Fine Art Academy, Frankfurt, Germany. He majored in Free Painting under the Professors Johannes Schreiter, Thomas Bayrle and Josef Beuys. In 1986, also at the Stadel Academy, he was introduced to the works and philosophies of the then residing Professor Gerhard Richter who eventually profoundly influenced the artistic direction that Moody was to embark on.

His career in the arts include Fine Arts Dealer, Gallery Owner, Membership in CINOA, Appraiser, Conserver/Restorer, participant in numerous Art Fairs in Maastricht, Koln, Munchen, Frankfurt, author and art critic for Art-i-fact, freelance curator for the Bellvue Art Museum, Seattle, Ukai Museum, Tokyo and for privately owned collections, and was on the Board of Trustees at the Seattle Fine Art Academy. Throughout his professional life, Harry Moody has pursued a dialogue concerning art ideals and the necessity to express oneself artistically. He has exhibited at the Stadel Museum Frankfurt, the Landes Museum Wiesbaden, at the Untitled Gallery Los Angeles, the Burr Gallery, Burbank & Fresh Paint Art Gallery, Culver City LA .

Harry Moody’s Abstract Paintings were recently included in the collection “ Abstract America” for Saatchi Online, curated by Rebecca Wilson, a Director at the Saatchi Gallery London.

He is a member of the Pasadena Society of Artists, Pasadena, CA and the Abstract Artist Gallery USA. His works can be found in public institutions & private collections.​

Harry James Moody is a German artist born in 1952 who lives and works in Los Angeles, United States. He received his training as artist at the Frankfurt Stadel Fine Art Academy, Frankfurt, Germany. He specialized in free painting under the supervision of professors Johannes Schreiter, Thomas Bayrle and Josef Beuys. In 1986, also at the Stadel Academy, he was introduced to the works and philosophies of then-incumbent Professor Gerhard Richter, who ultimately deeply influenced the artistic direction Harry James Moody would embark on. 

He participated in many art fairs in Maastricht, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt. He is also an author and art critic for Art-i-fact, independent curator for the Bellevue Art Museum in Seattle and the Ukai Museum in Tokyo. He was a member of the board of directors of the Seattle Fine Art Academy. Throughout his professional career, Harry Moody has pursued a dialogue about artistic ideals and the need to express oneself artistically. He has notably exhibited at the Stadel Museum in Frankfurt and at Landes Museum in Wiesbaden in Germany.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?

For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.

To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?

However, please note that once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other customs fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them (this is indicated at the ‘checkout’ first step).

Select the delivery address of your choice. Please make sure that someone is present to receive your order.

Why do I have to pay customs fees?

Return and cancellation

You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.

In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.

Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).

The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).

The buyer exercises his right of withdrawal directly from MUMART, by sending an email to the address: [email protected].
