Description
The painting by Jean-Philippe Ghiglione depicts a majestic lion at the center of the composition, captured in all its splendor and power. The deep black background highlights the main subject, creating a striking contrast that immediately draws the eye. The lion, painted in oil on canvas, is rendered in tawny hues, evoking the heat and wildness of the savannah. The colors, vibrant and intense, range from golden yellow to earthy brown, with touches of burning red.
The knife application adds a rich texture and an almost sculptural dimension to the painting. The knife strokes are visible, creating ridges and crevices in the material, which give the lion's fur a tactile, lifelike quality. The lines are both sharp and dynamic, capturing the restrained energy of the animal. The lion's gaze, piercing and laden with royal gravity, seems to pierce through the viewer, adding an emotional depth to the work.

The Ghiglione Gallery, fiefdom of Jean-Philippe Ghiglione, painter sculptor, located at the entrance to the village of Biot, was created in 1992, with Laurence Ghiglione, the artist's mother. Their fruitful collaboration has made La Galerie what it is today, a haven of peace where it is good to discover. In this unusual place with a surrealist atmosphere, you will discover many of the artist's creations, in his presence or by appointment, as well as all the works of artists who have shared and exhibited here. Like Heidi MELANO, mosaicist of Fernand Leger, Braque, Chagall ... Pedro Veloso internationally recognized glassmaker and many surprises of artists now deceased or temporary exhibitions of new creators.
