Description
This work reveals a captivating portrait of a dog, likely a spitz, thanks to its dense, dark coat. The artist uses bold brushstrokes to capture the texture of the coat and creates a subtle play of light that accentuates the different shades of brown. The eyes, painted in a vibrant blue, provide a marked contrast to the rest of the work and instantly capture attention. The bright pink tongue adds a lively and joyful touch to the portrait. At the bottom, a small illustration reiterates this expressive gaze, reinforcing the idea of fullness and movement. The blurred contours of the blue-gray background give depth to the image, while the central position of the dog gives it an imposing stature. This piece, simple in its composition, is nevertheless rich in expressions and details, revealing the mischievous and endearing character of the animal.
Presentation
Actress Paola Lanzi devotes part of her time to painting.
"I favor acrylic paint which is the most flexible way in my eyes to obtain the spontaneity necessary for my work which I carry out with knives, spatulas, brushes and paintbrushes.
The shimmering and dynamic colors of Africa, where I lived, which push you to optimism, to the joy of living, to vitality, have influenced my work which is aimed at the desire to share these impressions of positive energies. Abstraction gives me complete freedom to express generous shapes and make colors vibrate without any particular theory, inspiration being my only guide. I seek out the richness of the material so that it leads me to unsuspected solutions where gesture and thought come together."
For her new series Paola Lanzi has oriented her choice towards the figurative, but her series of monkeys is always with the aim of giving an image of the joy of living
