Presentation

Coming from a large Vietnamese family, Claude Lê Anh moved to France in 1950 to continue his studies. Her career is eclectic to say the least, since she goes from Decorative Arts (School of the rue d'Ulm), to Fundamental Sciences and becomes a chemical engineer. Then she turned definitively towards art by integrating the Louis Lumière School. While directing the microfilm service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Library, Claude Lê Anh began his prestigious career as a portrait painter and photo-reporter.

From 1975, she decides to devote herself exclusively to the spectacle (dance, theater, opera). Authorized photographer of Carolyn Carlson and Jorge Lavelli among others, Claude Lê Anh has also worked with big names on the French and international scene such as Jeanne Moreau, Delphine Seyrig, Patrice Chéreau, Merce Cunningham, Angelin Preljocaj ....

She has published several books on opera, theater and dance and has done numerous exhibitions both in France and abroad, notably at the Galerie CANON, the Center Georges Pompidou and the Biennale de Paris.

Lê Anh is also a renowned videographer, who has made films concerning both the Plastic Arts and the theater and especially ballet where she regularly collaborates with Carolyn Carlson, Luisa Casiraghi and Larrio Ekson.

She received a “Camera d'Or” at the Opéra-Bastille, rewarding the best dance videogram.
