This evocative artwork centers on a richly hued red onion, meticulously placed on an ornate, timeworn platter. The onion’s papery skin, peeling slightly, reveals vibrant textures and crimson layers, capturing the eye with its natural, rustic beauty. The platter’s intricate design and tarnished patina provide a stark contrast to the onion's smooth surface, while the muted background emphasizes a minimalist elegance. This piece distinctly echoes the chiaroscuro technique, evoking a sense of depth and dimension through masterful light and shadow play. The composition blends elements of still life with a contemporary aesthetic, inviting viewers to appreciate the subtle complexities and raw allure of everyday objects.

 The bodegones are a pictorial interpretation based on a research project by famous chef Juan Carlos Franco, on ancient food recipes from different periods of history. The photographer recreated the images inspired by paintings and images from these eras, also drawing inspiration from artists such as Leonardo DA Vinci, Albrecht Dürer, and others.
