Description
This monochrome represents a little girl with earrings. Every day we discover a part of his face.
His smile is suggested.
With hindsight, we perceive the whole face. it appears and disappears according to the light.
A serenity emanates from the work. By using a single color, Alain Bachet has thus created intimacy. The way of approaching the portrait is original. The artist thus delivers his perception of the child. He reveals the child within him. It is softness and fragility.
Alain Bachet produces his portraits using a double device: painting and computer recomposed by Polaroid photography. This photographic technique allows his portraits to play on a smooth material, on a reorganized decomposition of the face, on the white space of the edges of each element, on the distance that requires the overall reading and on the quality of material that makes sensible a more detailed approach.
Presentation
This “living ethnopolaroïdophoto-grapheurplasticien” was born in Niort in March 1964. He comes from the “crossing of a Savoyard and a Poitou Marsh”, as he likes to define himself. After studying cinema and working in the audiovisual industry, he returned to Niort in 1998 and began work which he described as truly personal. During a trip to Los Angeles, he bought his first polaroid. It is from this moment that the Polaroid madness wins him. To this day, he owns several thousand tightly framed portraits of people he has sometimes only met once in his life and with whom he composes.
Alain Bachet seduces us with his technique. His works resemble deconstructed puzzles to reveal to us his own vision.
His works are composed of Polaroids (real miniature works).
We can appreciate his work of assembly, association of colors, shapes.
The whole is astounding.
