Description
Pindan Beach, known as the "red earth", is located in the Kimberley region near Broome, Western Australia. The natural orange and red color comes from the “Pindan” cliffs that line the shore. Every year, this region attracts more than one hundred thousand migratory birds. It is on this coastline that birds are normally found in abundance and is a favorite spot for the avid bird watcher. The image was taken early in the morning, during a high tide, to create a beautiful contrast between the water and the shore. The "pindan" soil ends up where the water comes in, the color of the water is formed by the light gray/white "silt" mud found on the ocean floor, which gives this two-tone tone to the image.
