Description
Miquel Aparici creates animal sculptures from found objects. He sees the animal in the object he finds and completes his creation by adding more pieces to it. It is a laborious work in which he has to stay patient to complete his creation. The reward, his imaginative-put-together animal sculptures.
This piece is the result of a collaboration with a photographer, who captures Aparici's latest creations. Fun and light limited editions that make his work available to a wider audience.
"Sardina" does exist as a sculpture, and it is available for sale too. Please contact Villa del Arte Galleries for further information on the original sculpture.
**These limited editions are not signed to preserve the composition's aesthetic balance. Villa del Arte Galleries will provide the certificate of authenticity for each piece. These include the details of each artwork and the dated signature of the artist.
Presentation
Aparici's work is characterized by simplicity, as most of his pieces gather few elements, resulting in very elegant compositions with simple lines, which, combined with his creativity, give his pieces a great expressive power.
He transforms his drawings into three-dimensional beings, using the technique of assembly with old utensils as well as molds and disused objects made of wood and metal. Since then, he has produced over 350 pieces, representing all kinds of animals of different shapes and sizes, from life-size elephants to tiny insects.
Using the same technique, his sculptures also include musical instruments, rockets, masks and a collection of "secret books". Unusual figures that test our imagination and invite us to discover the elements that make up each piece, in a playful game of observation requiring the complicity of the spectator.
