Gregory Baoo

His work is part of the contemporary movement of the reappropriation of images, offering a new dimension to popular iconography.

High-quality crystals aren't just for the finest jewelry. Discover how Grégory Baôo, a Belgian artist born in 1975, uses these sparkling crystals to modernize historical photographs and create unique and striking works of art.

This artist is known for his work of reinterpreting history. His sober and refined style highlights the most remarkable aspects of each image, while his technique of partial coloring in pink allows to highlight the key elements of the image. The color pink has become his artistic signature.

Each work is the result of a meticulous process. From digital retouching to high-quality printing to the manual installation of each crystal, the artist carries out each step of the creation of the work. The sparkling crystals add shine and sparkle to his works.

The addition of crystals also adds relief to the work, creating a contrast between the matte and shiny parts.

Thanks to his passion for history, each work is enriched with a quote from the personality in question, revealed but whose location in the work remains to be discovered.

The artist creates a very limited number of copies of each work, in order to maintain their rarity and uniqueness. His wish is to pass on a part of history to future generations so that it never dies.
