Description
This artwork captures a haunting winter scene, filled with mystery and solitude. The dirt path winds through a mist-shrouded landscape, leading the eye to a solitary tree with bare branches. The image's subtle texture accentuates the roughness of the terrain and the prevailing melancholy. The color palette, dominated by gray and brown tones, evokes a twilight, almost otherworldly atmosphere. The contrast between the sharp foreground and the blurred background creates a striking depth, accentuating the sense of isolation. The minute details of the withered plants on the side of the path add a touch of realism to this dreamlike scene. This painting invites contemplation, evoking the inexorable passage of time and the immutable beauty of wilderness.
Presentation
Roland Avard, born in France in1950, lives and works in Auvergne (France). Although he had always been drawn to photography, it was not until 2010 that he was able to devote himself to it. Because he knows it well, nature is where he can best express himself.
His photographs are not of landscapes but rather the translation of emotions felt during his walks. "My photographs are encounters: the bridging between a feeling inside of me and a commonplace environment that is part of my everyday life."
His photography has two goals: visually translate emotions and share them. This very personal characteristic of his approach obliges him to constantly search for the words and expressions that best correspond to the subjects that emerge (a winter scene, or one of autumn, macro, etc.).
