Description
The artwork captures a vibrant scene of a charming lakeside village nestled against the backdrop of a majestic mountain. Dominating the landscape, a tall, elegant clock tower rises above the warmly colored terracotta rooftops, its architectural details reflecting historical grandeur. The soft hues of the buildings, ranging from warm beige to pastel orange, create a harmonious contrast with the lush greenery of trees strategically placed throughout. Below, a bustling promenade lined with people adds energy and liveliness to the scene, suggesting a community rich in culture and tradition. A majestic palm tree in the foreground accentuates the idyllic, serene atmosphere. The interplay of natural and man-made elements, along with the precise composition, highlights the village's timeless beauty and allure, making the artwork a captivating depiction of picturesque life by the mountainside.
Presentation
Born in Istanbul into a Turkish-German family, Nilgun Sezgin is currently based between Berlin and Istanbul. Her multicultural background has strengthened her curiosity for travel and her desire to experience different cultures from an early age.
In her academic life, after studying International Relations, she completed her master's degree in European studies at King's College London.
Photography, particularly travel and lifestyle, has long been her way of observing, exploring, and interpreting her surroundings.
Being observant by nature, Nilgun first picked up her professional camera at a young age, and since then she has been drawn to documenting the beauty in unnoticed, quiet details of everyday moments. Her work highlights the aesthetics of ordinary life, blending vibrant colors, beautifully crafted architecture, the authenticity of people and cities, and occasionally a charming dog element.
