Description
This artwork captures a serene coastal scene bathed in the warm glow of a setting sun. A charming open-air structure, with a white wooden frame and taupe awnings, sits atop a rugged stone foundation at the water's edge. The deep orange hues of sunset reflect off the gentle waves, creating a harmonious blend of sky and sea. A lone figure in vibrant purple attire adds a striking contrast, drawing attention and adding a sense of scale and life. The rocky hillside in the background, dotted with lush greenery, enhances the natural beauty of this tranquil setting. The interplay of light and shadow, combined with the vivid colors, evokes a sense of calm and idyllic retreat. This piece uniquely encapsulates the peaceful intersection of human-made structures and untouched nature, inviting viewers into a moment of quiet reflection.
Presentation
Born in Istanbul into a Turkish-German family, Nilgun Sezgin is currently based between Berlin and Istanbul. Her multicultural background has strengthened her curiosity for travel and her desire to experience different cultures from an early age.
In her academic life, after studying International Relations, she completed her master's degree in European studies at King's College London.
Photography, particularly travel and lifestyle, has long been her way of observing, exploring, and interpreting her surroundings.
Being observant by nature, Nilgun first picked up her professional camera at a young age, and since then she has been drawn to documenting the beauty in unnoticed, quiet details of everyday moments. Her work highlights the aesthetics of ordinary life, blending vibrant colors, beautifully crafted architecture, the authenticity of people and cities, and occasionally a charming dog element.
