Description
In this striking black and white photograph, a gorilla captivates with its intense focus and nuanced expression. The composition captures the animal in profile as it inspects a small twig with its large hands. Details of the gorilla's fur are sharply rendered, highlighting the intricate textures and depth of the image. The play of light and shadow emphasizes the gorilla's powerful physique and contemplative demeanor, creating a dramatic contrast that enhances its majestic presence. The background remains blurred, ensuring that all attention is on the gorilla's careful interaction with the twig. This artwork excels in conveying both the strength and the gentle complexity of one of nature's most formidable creatures, making it a compelling study of primate behavior and emotion.
Presentation
It was during one of her volunteering that Catherine Lefrancq discovered the photography. She then realized the strength that could have a photo to show the invisible. It has given rise to publications and exhibitions in France and abroad . Catherine Lefrancq is eternally fascinated by the wonders she is fortunate enough to observe and capture through her lens. Her approach to photography is resolutely intuitive and emotional, guided by her sensitivity and receptiveness to her surroundings. For her, emotion takes precedence over any technical considerations of her camera, which lends an authentic and poetic dimension to her work. For years Catherine used to work her photography from landscapes to wildlife, highlighting the beauty and majesty of nature in all its forms. More recently, her eyes have turned also to people who inspire her. Her photographs have been published in magazins, have been awarded and exhibited in galleries allowing the public to share her unique vision of the world.
