Axel Fassio

Axel Fassio possesses an original vision with an acute aesthetic sense, specializing in shooting landscape, nature and documentary photography. Working worldwide with humanitarian organizations, scientific research institutes and corporate clients, his award winning images have been the focus of several exhibitions and feature on a wide range of medias, from Conde Nast to National Geographic, and from The Guardian to The New York Times.

Axel's photography often involves stripping down landscapes to their essential elements, focusing on simple shapes and bold colors, evoking an emotional response by blurring the lines between representation and abstraction. He uses color and forms to convey mood and atmosphere beyond simply depicting a scene. His images tell stories about nature, light and our relationship to the environment.

Collaborating with diverse institutions and important brands, Axel shows an ability to adapt his unique style and aesthetics also to documentary and commercial photography. He doesn't just capture moments but weaves narratives of human resilience, suffering and beauty, evoking empathy and understanding.

Axel has received numerous awards and recognitions, including at the WPO Sony World Photography Awards, PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, TPOTY Travel Photographer of the Year, IPA International Photographic Awards, Worldwide Photography Gala Awards, Kontinent Photography Awards, and International Fine Art Photography Award among others.

His work has been featured in exhibitions around the world - Paris, Rome, Venice, London, Los Angeles, New York, Buenos Aires, Nairobi, Oberhausen, Kinshasa - and his limited edition prints can be found in corporate and private collections like the Artcoll Trust, associated with the Paul G. Allen Collection.
