Description
The eye first falls upon this radical contrast. A white, sharp, and oblique line fragments the space. It separates the painting into two distinct zones.
On the left, light and neutral tones evoke a diffuse light. On the right, a deep black imposes itself with rigor. This opposition creates an immediate visual tension.
The work on the material brings a tactile dimension. Fine and regular striations run across the surface. They give rhythm to the composition and play with reflections according to the viewing angle.
The approach is minimalist. Each detail serves the overall balance. The absence of a figurative subject leaves room for reflection on geometry and light.
This piece integrates perfectly into a contemporary interior. It brings a graphic structure and a sober elegance to the room.
The black frame emphasizes the boundary between the support and the wall. The whole presents itself as a precise study on chromatic duality.
Presentation
In the lens of her camera, she first sees an authoritative grid; vertical, horizontal, concave lines, then when she approaches it, she captures other abstract compositions, ordered sections of colour and matter. She captures urban architecture with the desire to surprise us. Corinne Cavillac takes her photographs instantly, in natural light, without filters or plastic retouching. The only thing that counts is the idea, the trick that turns a moment, a volume, a line, an angle, a texture, a colour spotted and caught into something completely different. The shot takes on a new meaning, in another, inverted, new frame. This arrangement of the construction accentuates the structural point of view. It is seen as a purely malleable aspect.
