Description
Print on baryta paper from black and white negative, handmade by a large Parisian laboratory. Who are Bruno Fournier's Warriors? Fighters who brandish their nudity as a symbol of absolute freedom, fighting against a coercive world. Some are armed with shields that take the form of unexpected accessories: rim, hair dryer, rope, skull, stethoscope, megaphone… Others shout, run, spread their legs, lie down, isolate themselves or reflect. In the country, in an apartment, by the sea, in a photo studio. Wherever they are, whoever they are, these women impose themselves as conscious creatures of a human condition torn between power and vulnerability. At the heart of this artistic writing imbued with a loving mastery of movement are three themes dear to the photographer: derision, strength and nudity. Bruno Fournier captures the richness of the inner emotions of women through this work where the purity of the images echoes a photograph without retouching. Now it's your turn to take the time to appreciate these Warriors, or even put yourself in their shoes. - Cecile Strouk

Presentation

In his personal work, Bruno Fournier has been exploring the motion, staging female nudes with unexpected accessories: rims, loudspeakers, stethoscope, camera, skull, car door, gun… Shoot in black & white with a film camera, these amazons scream their thirst for freedom. Eroticism and humour define a photographic writing which pay tribute to the untamed power of female
