Description
During my period of working with contemporary dancers, I also did some shoots with boxers. I found their training routines to be similar to those of dancers with often the same degree of dedication and in a training situation there is a certain beauty to the routines. This photograph is from a day at 'pop up' training camp by a lake near London. The image was used for the cover of The Folded Leaf by the great American author William Maxwell. There are three different editioned photographs available from this session
Presentation
London photographer and film-maker Richard Dunkley has worked all over the world for over 40 years, including twelve years based in New York. He has shot fashion for Vogue in five different countries and won numerous awards for his advertising photography. His personal work is held in many private and corporate collections.
Richard's wide range of interests, from dance to sport to film, are reflected in his collection with Artsper, in work from many years of his career. Recently Richard has concentrated on personal work and his new book, 'Chair Stories, Spaces and Places', has been available since September 2020, with a London exhibition in 2021.
Richard is currently working on a two year project on one of the UK's great gardens, for publication in 2022.
