Description
We live in a world where reconstructing oneself and adapting to new conditions is often accompanied by mistakes and uncertainty. Without a manual for life, a person is forced to improvise, discarding unnecessary elements and trying to find a place for spare parts.
This series reflects the process of rebuilding and rethinking oneself, showing how mistakes and failures become an integral part of the journey toward wholeness. Amid constant change and the pressure of social norms, individuals face the challenge of integrating these "excess" elements, creating a new version of themselves.
"Without Instructions" visualizes the chaos and unpredictability of adaptation in the modern world, emphasizing that life does not offer ready-made solutions. Each of us must find our own path, overcoming mistakes and embracing our imperfections in the pursuit of completeness.
Presentation
Tatiana Elizarova is an artist born in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, who currently lives and works in Moscow. She graduated from the Moscow Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov in 2019 and completed the Free Workshops program at the School of Contemporary Art of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in 2023. Elizarova primarily works with painting, printmaking, and objects. Her works are part of the collection of the State Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan.
In her artistic practice, Elizarova explores themes of self-determination and control in a constantly changing world. She is particularly interested in communication within a society lacking stability and in how individuals respond to the relentless shifts in their environment. Her works capture the continuous struggle of human beings to define themselves, maintain balance, and question the essence of humanity and its fundamental values. She often draws inspiration from her own experiences to inform her artistic research.
She combines classical materials and techniques, such as oil on canvas and printmaking, with the flexibility and versatility of new technologies and media, creating a dialogue between tradition and innovation in her art.
