Series J+ Gaëtan de Seguin paints the crowd. But not only. Gaëtan de Seguin paints the individual, an individual in the crowd. A crowd in the individual. The idea for the "J+" series was born out of a tragic event: the Attack on Charlie Hebdo.
Events have repeated themselves since. The crowd and individuals went on with their lives. Sensitive or insensitive, they ended up shaping a “mosaic of a society, a patchwork of men”; they all have their own fears, anxieties, but also their own hopes and desires in a multifaceted world.
When an individual separates himself from the crowd, one can wonder why… yes, why? Who is this individual? An intimate portrait? A quarter of an hour of glory? A focus on the singularity of men? Represent yourself in a complex world? Or quite simply for the pleasure of drawing bodies that fascinate him...his fellows...his own!
The artist offers to see and hear the voices of men. But above all the song of those who continue; freedom guides people in its own way. In short, Gaëtan de Seguin's painting is a bit of all of this: a constantly renewed fragment of humanity… day after day!

Gaetan de Seguin paints figurative works, with an abstract character. The various colors highlight that not one person is the same, and his artworks celebrate this individuality in a contemporary and elegant way.
His 'crowd' paintings also showcase that we are stronger together in love and friendship and a common way of life, in the fight agains racism and terrorism.
