Description
On the Parisian rooftops, where dreams flirt with reality, the soul rises in the soft light of twilight. This is in any case what the famous illustrator Sophie Griotto wanted to convey to us.
In a striking scene on the iconic rooftops of Paris, she perfectly captures the essence of dreams and freedom. In the center, a female figure stands with her back to us, her arms spread as if to welcome the immensity of the horizon. The soft light of dusk illuminates her ethereal appearance, adding an almost dreamlike dimension to the composition. The connection between the human figure and the urban landscape creates a palpable emotional intensity. In the background, the majestic silhouette of the Eiffel Tower stands out, an eternal symbol of the city. The Parisian rooftops, with their typical chimneys and delicate shades of gray, harmonize with the pastel sky. Presentation
Sophie Griotto was born in 1975 in Alès. She studied applied arts in Nîmes and then in Toulouse before moving to Paris where she worked for a large advertising agency. In 1988, she started working as a freelancer, as a storyboarder, which led her to make films for prestigious houses such as Dior or Jean-Paul Gaultier. She then decided to turn to illustration in 2003.
Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.
In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
