Description
A couple contemplates the horizon from a steep cliff. The gaze is lost towards a calm sea under a pale sky. Some birds fly over the coast, adding a note of freedom to the landscape. The composition plays on serenity and contemplation.
The artist favors soft, natural tones. The wild grasses in the foreground bring an organic texture. The work on light suggests the end of a summer day. The scene captures a moment of silent complicity in the face of immensity.
This creation is part of a poetic approach to everyday life. It mixes the precision of the line with the softness of flat areas. The technique used ensures remarkable chromatic fidelity.
This fine art print belongs to a series of large formats. It is a high-quality digital print. The visual rendering emphasizes the depth of the coastal relief and the clarity of the atmosphere.
Presentation
Sophie Griotto was born in 1975 in Alès. She studied applied arts in Nîmes and then in Toulouse before moving to Paris where she worked for a large advertising agency. In 1988, she started working as a freelancer, as a storyboarder, which led her to make films for prestigious houses such as Dior or Jean-Paul Gaultier. She then decided to turn to illustration in 2003.
Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.
In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
