Description
In the soft embrace of winter, where cocooning becomes an art, Sophie Griotto invites us to dream in the warmth, in the heart of nature. This work that mixes watercolor and digital drawing illustrates a warm scene. Let us find ourselves at the edge of a calm lake, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains. It is the blue hour, twilight envelops the landscape in a soft and soothing light, and the shimmering water reflects the delicate nuances of the night sky.
This contrast between the comfort of the interior and the wild beauty of the exterior landscape creates a serene atmosphere. The play of light, both inside and out, is particularly captivating, the cool colours of the landscape harmonizing with the warm tones of the cabin. This work perfectly captures the harmony between nature and modern architecture, evoking a deep sense of escape and serenity.
Presentation
Sophie Griotto was born in 1975 in Alès. She studied applied arts in Nîmes and then in Toulouse before moving to Paris where she worked for a large advertising agency. In 1988, she started working as a freelancer, as a storyboarder, which led her to make films for prestigious houses such as Dior or Jean-Paul Gaultier. She then decided to turn to illustration in 2003.
Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.
In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
