Description
Dusk over the ancient center of Rome. In the foreground, an elegant woman holds a bicycle, a symbol of freedom and carefreeness. Her style, both retro and modern, blends harmoniously with the urban environment. In the background, the Colosseum stands majestically, bathed in the soft light of dusk. The lit street lamps add a nostalgic and warm atmosphere. The trees, with their distinctive silhouettes, gracefully frame the composition. The use of pastel shades and watercolor techniques gives the image a unique poetic lightness. This work captures the serenity of a late afternoon stroll in the Eternal City, while highlighting the harmony between architecture and everyday life. It transports the viewer on a visual journey where past and present meet in perfect symbiosis.
Presentation
Sophie Griotto was born in 1975 in Alès. She studied applied arts in Nîmes and then in Toulouse before moving to Paris where she worked for a large advertising agency. In 1988, she started working as a freelancer, as a storyboarder, which led her to make films for prestigious houses such as Dior or Jean-Paul Gaultier. She then decided to turn to illustration in 2003.
Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.
In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
