This work is a unique hand-finished piece (1/1) by Pure Evil, created in 2023.
Although originating from an ACBF screenprint, this example has been individually hand-finished and explicitly numbered 1/1 by the artist, and should therefore be considered a unique work on paper rather than an edition.
The artwork is hand-signed by the artist and remains in excellent, unframed condition. Its unique status has been confirmed in writing by the artist and by the Pure Evil Gallery, and the work is accompanied by the original Certificate of Authenticity issued by the gallery, hand-signed and fingerprint-stamped by the artist.
Combining pop-culture imagery with Pure Evil's characteristic visual language and hand intervention, this piece stands apart from standard editions and is particularly suited to collectors seeking a one-of-a-kind example within contemporary urban and pop-influenced art.
Presentation
Charles Uzzell-Edwards is a graffiti and street artist known better known by the cheeky moniker ‘Pure Evil’. His tag of a vampire bunny rabbit was bore from the artist's feeling of remorse after he shot a rabbit in the countryside as a youth.
Pure Evil was born in South Wales and studied fashion and graphics in London. After finishing he went to live in California to avoid the ruins of Thatcher’s Britain. In the early 90’s he was living on the West Coast and working as one of the designers for a clothing label called Anarchic Adjustment with Alan Brown and Nick Philip. He was producing screen-printed t-shirt graphics and became involved in the electronic music scene in San Francisco. As a result he attended many raves and ingested a lot of weapon grade psychedelics.
