Description
Screen print on paper, hand signed and numbered in pencil.
Edition of 150.
A vibrant and imaginative color screenprint by contemporary German artist Karin Wiesmann, depicting a young girl seated on a tree stump within a dense, stylized jungle landscape. The figure, haloed in golden yellow and dressed in a white garment accented with red and green, sits calmly beside two spotted leopards resting at her feet. Surrounding the trio is a lush environment of overlapping tropical foliage rendered in rich tones of green and turquoise.
The composition demonstrates Wiesmann's characteristic visual language, combining naïve figuration, bold flat colour, and decorative patterning. The animals are portrayed with simplified forms and rhythmic markings, while the jungle backdrop forms a vibrant ornamental tapestry that frames the central figures. The harmonious coexistence between the child and the wild animals evokes themes of innocence, nature, and symbolic harmony between humanity and the natural world.
