SKE - American Music Festival Revisited - New York 1988
Limited edition of 10 copies – Hahnemühle art paper
With this work, SKE revisits a cult poster created by Keith Haring in 1988 for the American Music Festival - New York City Ballet, an iconic visual celebrating the graphic, musical and choreographic energy of 1980s New York. The original poster was part of the vibrant artistic universe of that era, between pop art, movement, dance, music and urban culture.
SKE appropriates this historical reference, transforming it into a decidedly street art version—rawer, more urban, more contemporary. The American flag becomes a wall, almost a mural, on which yellow silhouettes seem to dance, vibrate, and escape the frame. The drips, black outlines, spray effects, and visual energy reinforce the idea of a living tribute, a blend of respect for the original icon and a deliberate artistic reinterpretation.
This work is not a simple reproduction of the original poster: it is a reinterpretation in SKE's own unique style, blending pop culture, graffiti, an homage to the 80s, and street-pop aesthetics. The result retains the joyful, edgy, and instantly recognizable spirit of Haring's universe, while adding a contemporary, more mural-oriented, more urban, more collector's-focused interpretation.
Ultra-limited edition of only 10 copies, printed on premium Hahnemühle art paper. Each copy is intended for collectors with an appreciation for street art, pop art, iconic posters, Keith Haring, 1980s New York, the New York City Ballet, American culture, music, dance, graffiti, and contemporary works inspired by the great visual symbols of the 20th century.
A striking, decorative and rare piece, at the crossroads of vintage poster, artistic tribute and contemporary street art signed SKE.
Presentation
SKE is a self-taught, all-around French artist who was immersed in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting , collage , stenciling , graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with a double meaning, combine the raw energy of street art and the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional 2025, SKE's popularity has risen remarkably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master competition (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, solidifying his place on the contemporary art scene. Simultaneously, SKE is also making his mark in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, further enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and plays on textures characterize a style that is now essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with a rising value.
