Description
This striking sculpture features a dynamic wire figure engaging with a heart-shaped mesh form. Perched on a textured rectangular base, the figure's posture and outstretched hand convey movement and intent. The intricate wirework adds texture and depth, capturing the viewer's attention with its delicate complexity. The sculpture juxtaposes rigidity and fluidity, as the solid form of the figure contrasts with the airy, open design of the heart. This interplay invites contemplation on themes of connection, emotion, and the human experience. The background, possibly an abstract painting, complements the sculpture with its warm tones, enhancing the overall impact. The artwork's placement speaks to a harmonious blend of modern sensibility and timeless emotion, making it a captivating centerpiece in any collection.
Presentation
Karen Axikyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1963. He has always loved art and lives there. At different periods of his life, Karen Axikyan was interested in different spheres of art. First he drew oil paintings, then he started painting beautiful batik scarves, and then he moved on to the amazing world of sculptures.
In short, he is interested in everything related to art. For the past 15 years, he has been creating metal sculptures. It is said that he has a huge zoo with his different and wild animals. As Karen Axikyans says, he does not decide which animal what type of emotion the sculpture should have, he decides its emotion. Without having any cultural education, he was always in art, the only education he received was the artist who was his neighbor and he generally spent his time following the artists' works.
Karen Axikyan says metal is an instrument through which she can convey her emotional states. When creating a sculpture, her soul seems to be cleansed. Her latest collection is called "Little World" because the sculptures are so small they can fit in the palm of her hand.
