Description
Comes with signed certificate of authenticity.
"Sure Consent" is a striking contemporary sculpture that merges the raw intensity of iron with the enduring stability of basalt. Measuring 48x37x17 cm and crafted in 2023, this piece encapsulates dynamic motion through the twisted and coiled forms of iron wire, which create an abstract figure seemingly diving or falling into an abstract, rugged landscape shaped from basalt. The contrast between the meticulously shaped metal and the naturally rough stone base highlights a narrative of resilience and surrender, offering a powerful visual metaphor for embracing change with grace and strength. This sculpture stands not just as a decorative piece, but as a profound commentary on the human condition, making it a compelling addition to any modern art collection.
Presentation
Karen Axikyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1963. He has always loved art and lives there. At different periods of his life, Karen Axikyan was interested in different spheres of art. First he drew oil paintings, then he started painting beautiful batik scarves, and then he moved on to the amazing world of sculptures.
In short, he is interested in everything related to art. For the past 15 years, he has been creating metal sculptures. It is said that he has a huge zoo with his different and wild animals. As Karen Axikyans says, he does not decide which animal what type of emotion the sculpture should have, he decides its emotion. Without having any cultural education, he was always in art, the only education he received was the artist who was his neighbor and he generally spent his time following the artists' works.
Karen Axikyan says metal is an instrument through which she can convey her emotional states. When creating a sculpture, her soul seems to be cleansed. Her latest collection is called "Little World" because the sculptures are so small they can fit in the palm of her hand.
