This sculpture poignantly captures a moment of deep introspection and raw emotion. The work depicts a young girl curled up, her head tucked between her arms, as if to protect or meditate. The body, beautifully rendered in an almost fetal pose, conveys a sense of vulnerability and solitude. Cast in bronze, the sculpture is distinguished by an intense blue-grey patina that adds a dimension of mystery and depth to the work. The finely textured surface subtly captures the light, creating plays of light and shadow that accentuate the delicate curves and lines of the figure. The white marble base contrasts elegantly with the dark bronze, emphasizing the figure and giving the whole an aura of purity and gravity. This choice of materials highlights the dialogue between the cold of the marble and the warmth of the patinated bronze, adding a sensory complexity to the work. The figure's posture, with its arched back and folded limbs, evokes universal themes such as pain, meditation and the quest for inner peace. Through its form and texture, this sculpture invites contemplation and reflection on the inner state of the individual depicted. The artist has succeeded in capturing and freezing a fleeting emotion in a tangible form, making this sculpture not only an aesthetic art object, but also a powerful expression of human experience. It presents itself as an invitation to reflect on our own condition and our moments of fragility.
