Triumvirat, 2024

Stephanie Larène

This captivating sculpture features three abstract figures of birds in flight mounted on a metal base. The artist uses a bold juxtaposition of colors and textures to breathe life into these minimalist forms. Each bird is carefully cut and shaped from a material that appears to be metallic, suggesting both the lightness of flight and the solidity of metal. The first bird, placed at the top, is distinguished by its dark, almost black hue, dotted with touches of bright blue, creating a striking contrast. The second, on the left, adopts earthy hues with marbled patterns, evoking an organic connection with nature. The third, on the right, features a play of golden yellow and blue colors, symbolizing light and air. The dynamic arrangement of the birds, arranged in an ascending formation, embodies freedom and momentum, stimulating the viewer's imagination. This balanced composition, while using stripped-down geometric shapes, manages to express a natural grace and harmony. The black rectangular base gives stability and grounding to the work, while allowing the birds to appear to fly freely. This sculpture manages to capture movement while remaining static, offering the audience a fascinating visual experience.

The title Triumvirate indicates the presidency of 3 characters who wish for harmony and balance in everything.
