Description
This captivating work features a sculptural ceramic vase with an innovative shape, reminiscent of an unfurled fan. The beige surface of the object is decorated with sinuous black lines that intertwine harmoniously, creating an abstract and hypnotic pattern. The contrast between the simplicity of the color and the complexity of the lines reinforces the originality of the piece. The widened and rounded base ensures visual stability, highlighting the balance between functionality and aesthetics. This work embodies a refined fusion of modern art and artisanal traditions, paying homage to the dynamic interplay between form and space. A perfect example of elegance and innovation in ceramic art.
Presentation
Nina Khemchyan is an Armenian artist, born in 1964.
Nina initially studied at the Beaux-Arts in Erevan. She then came to Paris and joined Ecole Nationale des Arts Appliqués to acquire more knowledge on the subject.
Since her graduation, Nina has been trying out a vast number of artistic techniques. Through these different practices, the artist wants to find a lyrical vision of her environment and the world in which we live.
Her art often has a "Mediterranean" inspiration. Her work indeed can be associated with the cultural and natural richness of her home land, though she draws inspiration from ancient cultures like Ancient Greece.
"Before any creation, I need to touch the ground, feel the dampness under my fingers, breathe in the humus", says Nina Khemchyan.
