Description
This captivating work of art features a masterfully sculpted ball, combining finesse and depth in every detail. The material used, which appears to be a metal alloy, gives the object a timeless robustness while maintaining a subtle elegance. The surface of the sculpture features intricate engravings depicting abstract figures intertwined in a harmonious dance, evoking ancient myths or symbolic stories. The finish of the work, oscillating between golden and copper tones, reinforces its archaic and sacred aspect, reminiscent of artifacts from vanished civilizations. Each angle of the sculpture reveals new nuances and details, capturing the light in a way that accentuates the textures and engraved shapes. The choice of a white pedestal to display the piece accentuates its presence and creates a striking visual contrast that irresistibly draws the eye. The main attraction of this work lies in its ability to combine a raw and almost primitive appearance with an extremely refined execution, testifying to the artist's virtuosity. It is a piece that not only adorns a space but also invites exploration and contemplation, offering a rich and unforgettable visual and tactile experience.
Presentation
Nina Khemchyan is an Armenian artist, born in 1964.
Nina initially studied at the Beaux-Arts in Erevan. She then came to Paris and joined Ecole Nationale des Arts Appliqués to acquire more knowledge on the subject.
Since her graduation, Nina has been trying out a vast number of artistic techniques. Through these different practices, the artist wants to find a lyrical vision of her environment and the world in which we live.
Her art often has a "Mediterranean" inspiration. Her work indeed can be associated with the cultural and natural richness of her home land, though she draws inspiration from ancient cultures like Ancient Greece.
"Before any creation, I need to touch the ground, feel the dampness under my fingers, breathe in the humus", says Nina Khemchyan.
