Movement for Body and Mind,
Body and Mind, this duality which escapes us, the foundation of ourselves where the spirit cannot exist outside the world of bodies.
To sculpt is to be in the third dimension of reality, to return to a spiritual birth, when the body was only a body at the dawn of its life. To grasp this moment when the world of meaning opens up and to bring out the emergence of reality as a singular case, an objective world of meaning.
To sculpt is to relearn how to see…
What interests me in sculptural work, what obsesses me, is working on interiors, these suspended moments, these instants that escape us. Freezing in the mass the qualia, these intuitions and other subjective, sensitive effects that accompany a large number of our mental states.
My approach is none other than the search for abstract evidence, the one that will fill my questions of the present moment. Each creation is only a series of questions that these answers made of shapes and metal offer me.
The work is its genesis, said Klee… And we are the actors, in this third reality punctuated by forms, the smell of steel and this body immersed in the “infra-sense" ready to perceive the perceived for itself.
All that remains is to accelerate the movement of all that lives and to collect the images of matter by giving oneself over to the life of forms and colors.
Then the work will be able to free itself from any relationship of exteriority and open itself to aesthetic experiences, to the views of the world.

Christophe Rotais, also known as Mpcem, is a French sculptor. A self-taught artist, he started creating art in 2008. He currently lives and works in Brittany.
Mpcem, his artistic name, tells us more about his artistic approach. In fact, his name means: Movement for Body and Mind (Movement pour les Coprs et . The artist's artistic approach, through abstraction, explores the relations between the body and the mind, inseparable entities. The body to body of the artist with the material is thus a real outlet for his emotions, questions and his ideas. In his introspective universe, the artist retain a part of spontaneity, saying he wants to " sculpt his non-reflected thoughts". Artists, he writes, "address themselves to the mind of man, to his imagination; My art is made of suggestions, ideas and mystery".
the artist exhibits his work regularly everywhere in France.
