Description
This captivating work features a transparent glass block enclosing four Coca-Cola bottles, each vibrant with a distinct color: green, yellow, blue, and orange. The prismatic effect of the glass magnifies the vivid hues and transforms the bottles into objects of visual desire. The bottles, ubiquitous symbols of pop culture, are enhanced by a contrast between the transparency of the glass and the opacity of the colors, creating a dynamic and contemporary harmony. The bold color choice and symmetrical arrangement evoke the pop art style, paying homage to modern iconography. The juxtaposition of industrial reality and artistic expression gives this piece a striking modernity. This work questions consumption and culture, while offering a captivating and unforgettable visual experience.
Presentation
Nikki Floran is a young, emerging sculptor on the contemporary art scene, renowned for his innovative technique of embedding iconic objects in resin. Born in Milan in 1995 and raised around the world, Floràn captures and immortalizes time through works that blend art and history, creating pieces that challenge the perception of time and memory.
Since childhood, Nikki Floràn has shown a deep passion for art and experimentation with different materials. After completing high school, he attended the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), where he developed his interest in resin sculptures. During his university career, he perfected his technique and began exploring the idea of stopping time by incorporating objects of cultural and personal significance into his sculptures.
His work is distinguished by his ability to capture the essence of iconic objects, freezing them over time through the use of transparent resin. His sculptures not only celebrate the beauty of the objects they incorporate, but also invite the viewer to reflect on their historical and cultural relevance. Floràn's works encompass a wide range of objects, from vintage toys and Campari bottles (designed in 1932 by the futurist Fortunato Depero) to obsolete technological devices and glass Coca-Cola bottles, each chosen for its symbolic value. Each piece is a testament to the passage of time, offering a new perspective on the relationship between art and memory.
During her young career, Nikki Floràn has participated in collective events and exhibitions and personal, including: - "Baf Bergamo Arte Fiera" at Fiera di Bergamo, Italy, 2024 and 2025 with Galleria Art Events Mazzoleni; - "Brescia Arte Fiera" at Fiera di Brescia, Italy 2024 with Mazzoleni Art Events Gallery; - "Solo Exhibition" at Visionary Art, Lugano, Switzerland 2024; - "Participation in the exhibition Life is Wood by architect and designer Simone Micheli, Milano Design Week 2024 with Galleria Art Events Mazzoleni.
Nikki Floran is a promising contemporary artist, with a unique vision that blends past and present in innovative ways. Her resin sculptures are intended to leave a lasting impression on the art world, celebrating the beauty of the passing of time and the objects that represent it.
