Description
Two upright lines, a breath of wood in the center.
On living matter, some fragments of order.
Nothing holds together - and yet everything rests.
The sculpture explores the tension between rigid lines and organic elements, between verticality and anchoring. A discreet, precise, suspended gesture.
Double round bronze base 15 cm X 1 cm and Steel 9 cm X 3 cm or 15x15x4
Presentation
Born in Chile in 1960, Sergio Munoz also known as Pinto is a sculptor. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Valparaiso before moving to France, where he studied drawing.
The artist uses several materials: wood, metal, leather and stone. In his hands, the materials dialogue and fuse, making his pieces unique. We pass from the ordinary beauty of the material to a sublime beauty. Painting is also present, and enriches his creations. Pablo Neruda's poems are also a source of inspiration for the artist.
Pinto exhibits his work in France, Germany and Switzerland since 1991. We could see his work in Geneva in 2007 and at the Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Carrousel Du Louvre in 2008, in Paris.
