Description
Sculpture on handmade Lecce stone, designed and created by the artist Andrea Serra. The sculpture "Dance of the Tides" depicts the posidonia dancing and nurse of the sea currents, representing a harmonious and natural dance. The work conveys a sense of movement and fluidity by emphasizing the relationship between nature and the forces that govern it.
The processing of this work is entirely carried out by hand on this stone which is found only in very few areas of southern Italy, i.e. in the lower Salento in the province of Lecce. This particular stone of marine origin, rich in plant and animal fossils dating back to around twenty million years ago (such as shells, marine plants and shark teeth), makes it suitable for processing details. The fossils present are visible on the surfaces of the work and make it even more unique and fascinating.
The sculpture "Dance of the Tides" like any work by Andrea Serra, being sculpted by hand, is unique and signed in engraving by the artist.
Presentation
Andrea Serra is a sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as Ville e Casali. Serra cites nature and its forms as always having fascinated and inspired him.
He also allows himself to be overwhelmed by emotions and feelings, which is another source of inspiration for his pieces. He exclusively employs stone found in the lower part of Salento, which is rich in fossils.
