Description
This fascinating work features a multicoloured crocodile, a dazzling fusion of contrasts. The bold choice of bright colours – reds, greens, yellows, and pinks – creates an extraordinary contemporary camouflage, transforming the predator into an almost playful figure. The bold texture of the surface, marked by dynamic brushstrokes, catches the eye and engages the viewer. The unexpected presence of a black patent leather high-heeled shoe placed on the reptile's back introduces a perplexing duality between savagery and urban elegance, symbolising a tension between nature and artifice. The word 'Love' inscribed on the shoe adds an emotional dimension, contrasting ironically with the bestiality of the subject. This sculpture transcends simple animal exoticism, challenging the paradoxes of modernity through bold and iconoclastic imagery.
