Description
The steel transforms into a breath.
This sculpture explores the tension between the rigidity of metal and the lightness of a balloon.
The volume, inflated by a precise sheet metal technique, creates full and soft shapes.
The deep blue of the acrylic saturates the space.
The Pop Art aesthetic is expressed here through the stylized figure of a rabbit.
The work on the material transforms the metal into a taut, almost organic surface.
The dialogue between the saturated volume and the stainless steel base brings a modern balance.
The light glides over the smooth curves, highlighting the purity of the lines.
This piece combines artisanal mastery and visual poetry.
The whole rests on a shimmering rectangular base that reflects the blue silhouette.
Presentation
Killian Iglesis, sculptor of contemporary breath.
From a very young age, Killian Iglesis nurtured a deep interest in images and creation. Passionate about digital drawing, he developed a personal visual language, on the border between reality and imagination.
But it was in the workshop he shared with his father, a sculptor and creator of the "little man," that Killian discovered the art of working with materials. There, he trained in a unique and demanding technique: blown sheet metal sculpture, developed by his father. This unique process, combining drawing, cutting, TIG welding, and shaping by inflation, transforms rigid sheet metal into taut, light, and expressive volumes.
Heir to this artisanal process, he now explores its potential in a contemporary approach.
While the gesture remains, the aesthetics evolve:
Killian favours more understated, taut, sometimes minimal forms, where the lightness of the inflated metal interacts with a demanding artistic approach.
His sculptures play with space, light and the internal tensions of matter, in a personal language rooted in his time.
In 2025, he created Bubble Bunny, a stylized rabbit with full, soft shapes, blown like a steel balloon. The work combines technical mastery, visual humor, and formal poetry, asserting a unique artistic signature.
