Description
This innovative artwork presents a portrait transformed by a multitude of delicately cut and assembled butterflies in three dimensions. The central figure, wearing round glasses with violet lenses, expresses captivating surprise. The butterflies, varying in shades of beige, pink, and white, create a dynamic and almost fluid effect, rendering the composition both vibrant and ethereal. The use of color for the butterflies skillfully plays with light and shadow, lending remarkable depth and texture to the image. The interaction between the human figure and the butterflies symbolizes transformation or emergence, offering a poetic interpretation of metamorphosis. Carefully framed, this piece invites the viewer to explore the boundary between reality and dream, captivating with its visual complexity and masterful execution, while suggesting a continuity between nature and humanity.
Presentation
Coming from Street art, Lis Sam is a self-taught artist. Born in 1989 in Tunisia, arrived in France at the age of 11, he joined the craft trades, developing an appetite for the aesthetics of forms. As this is often the trigger for a passion for artists, it is his encounter, during a trip with a work that will decide his new direction. Working on many projects for several years, it is a second meeting that will be obvious, during the visit of a butterfly greenhouse in the south of France. The flower maidens were born.
