Description
The work consists of individually manufactured and screwed-together Plexiglas strips, mostly in transparent and fluorescent colors. Viewed from different perspectives, the radiant strips seem to weave together into a dynamic composition. At the same time, each curl pulsates independently with a glow, conveying movement and energy. The juxtaposition of colors creates a visual symphony that is both harmonious and lively. The organic, flowing forms suggest a sense of movement and invite the viewer to contemplate the interplay of light and form. This work is distinguished by its bold use of fluorescent Plexiglas, which transforms a simple wall into a fascinating focal point and highlights the transformative power of light in art. Through its unique design and vibrant color palette, the artwork transcends traditional boundaries and offers an immersive visual experience.
Presentation
Selçuk Dizlek (born 1976 in Schweinfurt) studied at the Nuremberg Art Academy; he is a sculptor, but in his work groups he very subtly blurs the boundaries between painting, object, relief, sculpture, interaction and light art. Time and again, the line emerges as a unifying design element, whether as a sculptural space-occupying "drawing" or as luminous light tracks.
Dizlek's sculptures are geometrically abstract/concrete.
In his œuvre there is a variety of materials: plexiglass, metal, concrete, ceramic tiles and, above all, the fascination of "light", which is used as a sculptural material. Light boxes or sculptures, light steles or sculptures, and color space objects or reliefs made of reflective, fluorescent, and translucent materials such as Plexiglas have been a focus for many years.
