Description
This captivating sculpture blends abstraction and harmony in a bold composition. Two slender figures emerge from a rectangular base. On the left, a sober and majestic black column rises with a shimmering copper head, contrasting sharply with the vibrant blue of the adjacent figure. The latter boasts a smooth texture, its cobalt blue surface enhanced by a distinctive gray appendage. Each element is carefully balanced, playing with contrasts of color and texture. The interaction between geometric and organic shapes offers a dynamic that captivates the viewer. The juxtaposition of matte and glossy materials lends depth and mystery to the work, while the use of metal underscores the modernity and robustness of the creation. This piece embodies the momentum and energy of contemporary design. "Our silences join together — sensual forms in balance" thus evokes what unites without being spoken: an intimate space where forms come together, sensual and in balance.
Presentation
Born in Chile in 1960, Sergio Munoz also known as Pinto is a sculptor. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Valparaiso before moving to France, where he studied drawing.
The artist uses several materials: wood, metal, leather and stone. In his hands, the materials dialogue and fuse, making his pieces unique. We pass from the ordinary beauty of the material to a sublime beauty. Painting is also present, and enriches his creations. Pablo Neruda's poems are also a source of inspiration for the artist.
Pinto exhibits his work in France, Germany and Switzerland since 1991. We could see his work in Geneva in 2007 and at the Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Carrousel Du Louvre in 2008, in Paris.
