Description
Exclusive to Belart Gallery.
This dynamic sculpture portrays a panther in mid-prowl, vibrantly adorned in a kaleidoscope of graffiti-style artworks. The panther's sleek, elongated form is accentuated by an explosion of neon hues, including vivid pinks, blues, greens, and oranges. Each section of its body displays distinct street art elements—bold tags, intricate patterns, and striking typography—that merge seamlessly across the sculpture's surface. The juxtaposition of the wild panther form with the urban graffiti culture captures a powerful fusion of nature and modern art. The use of color and style conveys motion and energy, embodying the spirit of both the animal and the art genre. This piece challenges traditional depictions, inviting viewers to engage with the raw, untamed essence that graffiti captures, set upon the elegant symmetry of its feline canvas.
Presentation
French artist Vincent Bardou was born in 1989 in Vitry-sur-Seine. He was quickly drawn to design, then discovered urban culture and graffiti, which would greatly inspire him. It was with design and drawing that he took his first steps into professional life, then decided to devote himself entirely to art in 2014 and moved to the south of France.
It is through art that he manages to refocus, but also to maintain a certain open-mindedness, to consider the world from a different angle and not to confine himself to a single idea. Art allows him to broaden his perceptions of the world. Thus, he addresses many subjects that are close to his heart: the protection of nature, war, or even the relationship that humans have with the media.
His style is eclectic and can range from abstract to figurative. He depicts characters from popular culture in black and white with acrylics, invaded by colored lines from the spray can. With his cinema paintings, he explores different styles while imposing a certain rigor on himself.
