Aranya aceitera, 2026

Joaquín Riera Llargués

This artwork presents a meticulously crafted sculpture, intriguingly merging organic and mechanical elements. Positioned on a stark white pedestal, the piece features a central metallic object resembling a spider's body, with thin, elongated metal legs protruding from its sides. The contrast between the industrial material and natural form creates a striking visual tension. The sculpture's minimalist setting enhances its dramatic silhouette and highlights its intricacies. An antenna-like protrusion atop the body suggests an element of technology, blurring the lines between nature and machine. This fusion challenges the viewer to reconsider the interactions between the organic world and human innovation. The reflective quality of the metal adds a dynamic aspect, interacting with light to create shifting shadows, further animating the piece. This artwork captivates through its unique juxtaposition, prompting contemplation on the harmonious and discordant aspects of our ever-evolving environment.
