Description
This bronze sculpture questions the passage of time and human finitude. Two skulls face each other, connected by a central element evoking an hourglass. The polished metal captures the light, creating marked contrasts between the bright areas and the dark hollows of the anatomy.
The composition plays on a rigorous symmetry. The central object seems to suspend the moment, freezing the silent dialogue between the two figures. The black, matte base stabilizes the whole, highlighting the cold brilliance of the bronze.
The conceptual approach transforms a classic symbol of vanity into a modern reflection. The relief work emphasizes the precision of the bone structures while maintaining an organic fluidity. This piece, made in 2010, combines technical rigor with a universal symbolism about the brevity of existence. The visual balance rests on the tension between the mass of the skulls and the finesse of the link that unites them.
